Master of Wolves by Angela Knight (Mageverse book 5)
Tuesday, March 16th, 2010What I love about this series is you don’t need to read the other books to follow the story.
Jim London is a cop who also happens to be a werewolf. After his friend mysteriously dies in a small town in North Carolina, Jim is determined to find his killer. One problem; his disguise must be in his werewolf/dog form. Did he think that was his only problem?! He gets assigned to the lovely hard nosed cop in charge of the k-9 unit Faith Weston. Falling for Faith as her loyal companion. Ferreting out the truth concerning who was involved in his friends death, finding out small towns are full of secrets layered into others secrets. Getting out alive might not be his only concern when he finds out the truth.
What can more can I say. Jim is a regular guy who happens to be a sexy artist, werewolf, brother of the Sidhe Queen who uncovers a conspiracy that finally brings all sides of Merlin’s Magekind together.
Jim is believable as a grief stricken friend. Faith is also not easily accepting of all the Magic suddenly around her. Nor her unwillingly joining of the wolf pack. The lack of trust and overabundance of lust makes her head spin. It seemed not to be a tidy ending on the final page. But Angela Knight loves her Happy Endings. Suspense was believable, as were all the secondary characters. 4paws for this entry
